by vanessagobes
Sorry for all the “uummmmmms”. I recorded early this morning without preparing what I was going to say.
Do you chant? Where does it take you? Can you share your favorite?
From mine to yours,
Vanessa

I constantly spent my half an hour to read this blog’s content
everyday along with a mug of coffee.
Hey Chester! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 😀 Big smiles. 😀
I’m excited to uncover this page. I want to to thank you for your time due to this fantastic read!!
I definitely enjoyed every part of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new things on your blog.
Oh wow! Thank you so much! What a compliment! I’ve continued working with this chant and started introducing it to meditating mommies and it’s been really powerful. Buddha in Your Mirror is great, isn’t it? If you’d like to practice formally with a group there’s an organization called SGI. Google it and you can find out where they meet in your neighborhood. Awesome!!! Big smiles and thanks!
Nam myoho rengue kyo is kind of short code that resume the lotus sutra. It was created by Nichiren Daishonin in japan, kamakura era, in 1260. Nichiren was a Tendai monk who studied a lot many buddhism sutras. He found the Lotus sutra and get his enlightment. He is, for many, known as the original Buddha, the sucsessor of sakyamuni Buddha. He created Nam myoho rengue kyo as a devotion to sutra lotus and to people meet the Buddha state inside themselves. Since then, people all over the world practice Nichiren buddhism chanting NMRK. I’m buddhist and i go to Soka Gakkai, one of the three Nichiren Buddhism school. NMRK to me is like vital energy, it’s like life juice. Write to me if you would like to talk more about. Glad to know that you feel like that. You’re lucky, congrats. Sorry my english, i’m Brazilian. My email: icomatias@gmail.com
thank you for the great information! yes, a friend has introduced me to soka gakki and there is a school close by. i’m planning to visit soon! peace!
I find mantras to be an effective entry into deep meditation when my mind is scattered. I have had concrete results after chanting mantras to Ganesha for 40 days. While performing a mantra for Lakshmi I felt her spirit move through me by the 30th day. I am thinking of starting another for her soon.
wonderful! which mantras do you chant? are they short enough to share? 🙂
I would be very happy to share with you. I’ll check back later this weekend. : )
Mantra to Ganesha, mover of obstacles
OM GUM GANAPATAYEI NAMAHA
I learned the pronunciation through a teacher but found a youtube that I sent to a friend who was struggling with the pronunciation on her own.
108 repetitions for 40 days.
The other mantra I have found to be very effective is for Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity.
OM SHRIM MAHA LAKSHMIYEI SWAHA
I don’t care for this video but it will give you an idea of the pronunciation. I’m sure you can find a better one out there.
Namaste
